Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Deep Data ("the Service") at deepdata.ca, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Deep Data is a comprehensive corporate intelligence platform providing access to information on Canadian companies across thousands of cities, aggregated from federal and provincial government data sources. The Service includes natural-language search, company profiles, and a REST API for programmatic access.

3. Account Terms

  • You must provide a valid email address and verify it to activate your account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password
  • One person or legal entity per account
  • You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • By creating an account, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy

4. Subscription Plans & Billing

Plans

  • Free — C$0, full data access with rate limits (10 tokens/day, 10 results per query)
  • Pro — C$149/month, full data access, CSV/JSON export, 1,500 tokens/month, 2 API keys
  • Business — C$499/month, full data access, CSV/JSON/Bulk export, 10,000 tokens/month, unlimited API keys, up to 5 users
  • Enterprise — from C$1,299/month, 30,000+ tokens, SLA, SSO, custom integrations, dedicated support, individual terms

Billing

All paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled. When you cancel, you retain access until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period.

Token Allocations & Rate Limits

  • Free — 10 tokens per day, 10 results per query
  • Pro — 1,500 tokens per month (pool), 15 requests/min, 150 results per query
  • Business — 10,000 tokens per month (pool), 60 requests/min, 500 results per query
  • Enterprise — 30,000+ tokens, 150+ requests/min, 1,000+ results per query

5. API Usage & Rate Limits

API access is governed by a token-bucket rate limiting system. A "token" represents one unit of API usage — each API operation consumes a specific number of tokens as follows:

  • Search — 1 token
  • People lookup — 2 tokens
  • Contacts lookup — 2 tokens
  • Export — 5 tokens

API keys are confidential and must not be shared. Abuse of API access, including exceeding rate limits or circumventing restrictions, may result in suspension of your account. The number of API keys you can generate depends on your subscription tier.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Bulk redistribute or resell the data provided by the Service
  • Use the Service to build a competing product or service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service

7. Intellectual Property & Data Licensing

  • The platform, user interface, branding, and all original content are owned by Deep Data
  • Government data is not in the public domain. It is redistributed under the open licences of the originating publishers, which require attribution:
  • Attribution and source links are preserved on every company profile (see the Attribution section on each page)
  • Our aggregation, normalization, indexing, and analytical layers are proprietary; the underlying source data remains subject to its original licence
  • You retain all rights to your own data (queries, exports, account information)

8. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

Business data is provided "as is" from Canadian government sources. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, data may be outdated, incomplete, or contain errors.

AI-Generated Content: The Service uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to generate company intelligence briefs, search interpretations, and analytical summaries. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, misinterpretations, or omissions. Deep Data does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated output. AI-generated content is clearly labelled and must not be treated as verified fact.

The Service is not a substitute for professional due diligence, legal advice, or official government records. You should independently verify any information obtained through the Service before making business, legal, or financial decisions.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Deep Data shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount of fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

  • You may cancel your account at any time through your Dashboard
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms
  • We will provide 30 days notice before making significant changes to Service features
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of the Province of Alberta.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 30 days notice of any material changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
